International balloonists will test their flying skills in a five-day visual spectacle over the Waikato region culminating in the Hamilton Nightglow event (27 March) - an orchestrated show with live music and fireworks.

The Easter-time 48th National Jazz Festival - the world's third oldest jazz fest - will feature five days of entertainment from 60 bands and musicians. Performances from two jazz greats - six-time Grammy award-winner Dr John from New Orleans, and ¡®the Godfather of Acid Jazz' Brian Auger - will be highlights.
